Sir Isaac Newton was an English physicist and mathematician who is widely regarded as one of the most influential scientists of all time. Newton's Principal formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation that dominated scientists' view of the physical universe for the next three centuries. John Locke widely known as the Father of Classical Liberalism, was an English philosopher and physician regarded as one of the most influential of Enlightenment thinkers His work greatly affected the development of epistemology and political philosophy. Political Satire of Today
Here is a piece of satire in a form of cartoon. This cartoon compares people killed by guns and people killed by other causes. It clearly shows that their other problems in society than guns.
Metaphor is use to compare guns to other everyday items , and how there are other more dangerous thing that can kill other than guns. The main idea is that guns are not the only problem. There are other more harmful things that are overlooked. This cartoon shows numbers to compare the amount of people killed by this weapons and the amount of people killed by Drunk Driving , Auto accidents , knives and fists. Image Link |
Satire Example
This satire comic strip uses the old fairy tale ( Cinderella ) . This satire mocks people's problems (mentality), social pressure and the fairy tale. The Theme is of this satire is that people worry about their looks and try to be fit in society . The story's tone is sarcastic. The Sarcasm furthers the advancement of the theme as a common means of ridiculing the well known story of Cinderella. This satire exaggerate many things in this mock comic. For one thing, Cinderella is overweight , second is what the godmother is wearing . we expect that Cinderella will go to the ball and marry the rich spoiled kid, but the opposite happens and everyone ignores her. In this satire fairy tale comic , we can assume the ending, sense the story is different from the real fairy tale sense the beginning, also the godmother lets us know things about Cinderella that she doesn't know. This comic strip mocks social pressure and how people don’t realize how much they try to fit into society.
